Clay sessions are between 60 – 90 minutes depending on what you book.  This will give you plenty of time to get ready, be given a brief intro and enable the creation of your piece.

Handbuilding - £26.00

Handbuilding is a technique that allows you to create forms with clay using your hands, without the use of a wheel.  You will have the freedom to experiement and to create your own unique piece using various methods.

Come along and turn a ball or slab of clay into something unique that when dry can be fired in our kiln to become a lasting piece.  Recommended for ages 4 upwards.

Price includes: all materials, bisque firing, glazing session and glaze firing.

Children need to be accompanied by an adult unless agreed otherwise.

Sessions are 60 minutes.

Throwing Session from £15.00

Our taster sessions are just that, a taster of  throwing on a wheel which is best experienced & enjoyed with a friend.

It’s messy, the outcome is often unexpected but you will have a lot of fun enjoying  the process.

You can choose to just have a go  and see what  forms or  have a go & have your piece kiln fired ready for glazing at a later date.

We recommend ages 8 upwards.  Please chat to us if younger.  Children under 12 must  be accompanied unless already registered at poponin for clubs.

Taster is 60 minutes on the wheel but please allow 90 minutes overall.

60 min sessions  can be divided  min 2, max 4 .  If you want the wheel all to yourself please email poponinhurst@gmail.com to arrange.

Pottery Painting

 We hold a small selection of bisqueware aimed at children that is ready to paint and then fired in our kiln.

Our range changes regularly to keep things fresh but you can also request something specific and we will aim to source this for you.

Painting sessions last 60 mins.
